Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin

Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin’s mission programs are supported through the resale of gently used and new clothing and household items in our retail and online stores. Our mission focuses on maximizing an individual’s success and enhancing their independence through workforce development and supportive housing. For example:

  • The Supported Employment (SE) program helps adults with developmental disabilities enjoy greater independence and confidence through working in the community. Goodwill partners with local employers and provides job coaches at no cost to the employer to support SE participants in their work.
  • Goodwill SCWI owns three group homes for individuals with chronic mental illness and other challenges. The residents receive the support they need to learn the skills to be successfully employed and to live on their own. Each home is staffed by Goodwill employees 24/7.
  • Through a partnership with the IRS and the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, Goodwill SCWI offers VITA, the volunteer income tax assistance program. Over 25 trained and certified local volunteers provide FREE valuable tax assistance to low-income workers and individuals during the tax season.

How can you help support our mission? If you need a piece of art, décor, furniture or other items to stage a home, check out Goodwill!
You are also invited to shop our stores for an ever-changing assortment of name-brand men’s, women’s and kid’s clothing, shoes, household items, toys, games and more, all at affordable prices. To find a location near you, visit goodwillscwi.org/locations.

And we welcome your donations. When a client is selling their home or downsizing to a smaller home, think of Goodwill SCWI as the place to donate unneeded items. We even take working and non-working electronics and computer equipment, wiring and strings of lights, all which is recycled responsibly. Through resale and recycling, Goodwill SCWI’s focus on sustainability keeps 16 million pounds of material out of local landfills each year.

Goodwill SCWI is a local nonprofit. Donations stay within our region to help people in the community achieve their highest level of independence.
