Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin
With 14 convenient locations and donation center hours that fit your schedule, Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin makes it easy to donate your gently used household items, including furniture and electronics. If you are running short on time or have large items that are too cumbersome to haul away on your own, you can book an appointment with ReSupply – this veteran-owned business has partnered with Goodwill in our local area to offer a low-cost solution for quick and easy pick-up.
Goodwill also partners with Dell Reconnect to make sure that all electronics not suitable for resale are kept out of the landfill. Better yet, it’s free! Gather your old monitors, computers, power cords, gaming systems, keyboards and other electronics and drop them off at any Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin regardless of working condition. You can even drop off holiday string lights at Goodwill for responsible recycling.
When you donate and shop at Goodwill, you help our local community. Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin’s retail stores fund their mission services, which include supported employment and job skills training for community members with barriers to employment, supportive housing and volunteer income tax assistance.
People like Joy, Martin, Calvin and Celeste are able to experience pride, connection and belonging through the power of work thanks to your generosity (click names to watch their stories). In addition to their Supported Employment programs, Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin operates two group homes that provide 24/7/365 support for individuals living with chronic mental illness, along with 74 subsidized apartment units, where they are able to provide safe, affordable and stable housing.
Through their VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program, Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin helps to prepare over 1,000 tax returns every year for low- to moderate-income households, resulting in over $1.4 million in tax refunds returned into our local community to help pay for rent, bills, medication and other essentials. The VITA program is always looking for volunteers (no experience is necessary, training is provided). To learn more about volunteer opportunities, contact: info@goodwillscwi.org.
