Market Update – December 2019
Home Sales Home sales for the month of November maintained the slower pace that we expect from our fall market, but are up ever so slightly from last month. There were 359 new homes listed for sale over the last 30 days. Of those new homes listed, 161 of them were 3 bedroom single family homes – typically the most sought after homes in our market. The average days on market for a sold home is 48, so homes are still moving relatively quickly. Michael and Suzanne Restaino, Heidi Kopras and Miki Smith attended the Downtown Madison, Inc. (DMI) Annual Dinner on October 28, 2019, at the Monona Terrace. Over 600 DMI members, friends and downtown stakeholders celebrated another year with DMI over dinner, networking, a national speaker, and the presentation of the 23rd annual Community Asset Awards! The Keynote Speaker was Bryan C. Lee Jr., an architect, educator, writer, and Design Justice Advocate. He is the founder/Design Director at Colloqate Design, a nonprofit multidisciplinary design practice in New Orleans, Louisiana, dedicated to expanding community access to design and creating spaces of racial, social, and cultural equity. Restaino Relocation Attends WI SHRM 33rd Annual State Conference
The event hosted over 1,500 HR professionals and professionals in the industry. During the conference, Gail Johnson, Susan Thompson with Action Coach, and Nadya Nahirniak-Hansen spoke on the subjects of Mobility and Recruiting Talent. Attendees were presented with learning how to approach recruiting to attract, hire and retain top talent. The talk included best practices to enhance recruiting which included relocation assistance when interviewing candidates and families from outside the area. The Restaino Relocation Division was also an exhibitor during the conference.
